Redact (Blackout)
Draw boxes over anything you want hidden. This is true redaction: the hidden text is removed from the file.
How it works
- Drop a PDF.
- Draw boxes over what must disappear (or use Add box and the arrow keys).
- Download. Pages with boxes are rebuilt as images.
Good to know
- True redaction: the hidden text no longer exists in the file.
- Redacted pages become images, so their text is not selectable.
- Free with no limits, accounts or watermarks. Files are processed in your browser and never uploaded.
Questions
Is a black rectangle in a normal editor enough?
No, the text stays underneath and can be copied. Pagefort flattens the page so it cannot.
